Residents from Marionville and surrounding areas gathered at the village's Community Centre on December 11, 2022, to attend the launch of the published historical book of the village, “Marionville….Mon village raconté…”
Author Marcel Clément, a former Marionville resident, undertook the project, in March 2020 at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. It took almost three years to compile a detailed history of the village's founding and its evolution from the post-war period to the 21st century. Marcel was joined by many friends, residents and former residents of Marionville, all of whom made a significant contribution to the realization of this wonderful project. The book launch was a resounding success, with 450 copies sold.
This 300-page publication includes numerous historical photos and documents. It is divided into 16 chapters and fifteen appendices, each detailing a different facet of the history and daily life around Marionville. Quite an achievement! If you are interested in obtaining a copy of the book, please contact: marionvillecc@gmail.com
Many thanks and congratulations to Marcel and his team for leaving us this legacy! Another page in the history for former Marionville residents and for generations to come!
